About
Meet Our Approach
Hello, my name is Michelle. I’m deeply passionate about offering a space where people feel genuinely heard, safe, and respected. Therapy here isn’t clinical or impersonal—it’s human, warm, and down-to-earth. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just in need of someone to really listen, this is a space where you're free to show up exactly as you are.
Reflections is my personal narrowboat—a peaceful sanctuary that has supported my own healing and growth. Moored gently along the canal, it offers a quiet, nurturing environment that feels far removed from the noise and pressure of everyday life. It’s not just a setting; it’s a way of being. A place where cups of tea are welcome, where silence can speak, and where laughter or tears are both held with care.
Here, counselling is shaped around you. You might prefer to talk, to draw or mould clay, or even take a gentle walk outside. However you feel most comfortable engaging, I’ll be beside you—not to direct, but to walk with you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
I believe that everyone deserves access to a space where they can feel safe enough to unfold—and I’m here to offer that space with kindness, compassion, and respect.

Our Services
Canal Counselling is a place for reflections—a gentle, grounded space where healing begins not with pressure, but with presence. Nestled on a peaceful narrowboat, Reflections offers a sanctuary for self-discovery and emotional wellbeing. Whether you're new to counselling or returning to it, you’ll be met with care, honesty, and respect—wherever you are in life.
Sessions are available in person, online, or by phone—whatever feels safest and most accessible for you. At Reflections, we believe that looking back helps us understand the present—and it’s through this understanding that we begin to shape a more intentional future. Each session invites you to explore your story at your own pace, trusting that healing doesn’t rush, it unfolds.
Alongside counselling, sessions can include elements like breathwork, body awareness, and mindful tools drawn from Michelle’s broad training in wellness coaching, anger and emotion management, body-based therapies, and holistic healing approaches—always guided by what feels right for you.
Individual Therapy
Experience personalised therapy sessions designed around you—your pace, your voice, your needs. Together, we explore what’s showing up emotionally, physically, and relationally, gently supporting growth, healing, and resilience.
Couples Therapy
For couples who want to reconnect, rebuild trust, or simply understand each other better. These sessions offer a calm, compassionate space to explore shared patterns, communication styles, and emotional needs—without blame or judgement.
Specialised Programmes
Sometimes, life calls for more focused support. Our specialised programmes are grounded in compassion and knowledge, offering guidance through complex or transitional times. This may include:
● Menopause wellness and midlife transitions
● Anger and emotional regulation
● Breathwork and nervous system support
● Tantra-informed self-awareness and relational healing
● Body love and confidence coaching
● Life transitions and value-driven coaching
● Mindful mental health practices
● Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Support informed by anatomy and physiology awareness, for those wanting a deeper understanding of how stress and trauma affect the body
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Your story, background, and way of working are unique—and that’s honoured in everything we do. Whether you prefer talking, creating, breathing, walking, or simply sitting quietly together, your sessions will be shaped to suit you.
Let healing unfold in a way that feels real and human.
Supporting Scotland's Health and Care Sectors

I bring years of experience in palliative and end-of-life care, including firsthand understanding of grief, burnout, and emotional suppression in care roles. That's why I offer fixed-rate sessions (£20/hour) to those working in Scotland's Health and Care Sectors.
Giving something back because support should not be a luxury.
